Noida Police takes commendable action, returns over 100 smartphones to rightful owners
Once again, Noida Police has won the trust of citizens with an exemplary move. In a special operation led by the Central Surveillance Cell and Phase-2 Police Station, more than 100 lost mobile phones were recovered and returned to their rightful owners. These phones had been lost in metros, buses, autos, or other public places.
How were the phones recovered?
The police used a combination of technology and smart tracking to trace the devices:
- IMEI numbers were used to identify and track each phone
- The CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal helped block and trace the phones
- Real-time monitoring, camera surveillance footage, and mobile network tracing helped track locations
- Once tracked, the phones were verified and returned to their original owners
This operation was carried out under the supervision of DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi. Reports say the team received a reward of ₹25,000 for their efforts.
