Noida Police Returns 100+ Lost Phones: How to Track and Recover Your Missing Mobile

Noida Police takes commendable action, returns over 100 smartphones to rightful owners

Once again, Noida Police has won the trust of citizens with an exemplary move. In a special operation led by the Central Surveillance Cell and Phase-2 Police Station, more than 100 lost mobile phones were recovered and returned to their rightful owners. These phones had been lost in metros, buses, autos, or other public places.

How were the phones recovered?

The police used a combination of technology and smart tracking to trace the devices:

  • IMEI numbers were used to identify and track each phone
  • The CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal helped block and trace the phones
  • Real-time monitoring, camera surveillance footage, and mobile network tracing helped track locations
  • Once tracked, the phones were verified and returned to their original owners

This operation was carried out under the supervision of DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi. Reports say the team received a reward of ₹25,000 for their efforts.

Police give important advice

According to police officials, many people assume that once a phone is lost, it’s impossible to get it back. However, with the CEIR portal, tracking and blocking stolen or lost phones has become faster and more effective.

If you’ve recently lost your phone, follow these steps immediately:

What to do if your phone is lost?

  1. Visit the CEIR Portal: https://www.ceir.gov.in
  2. Select the ‘Block your lost/stolen mobile’ option
  3. Fill in details like IMEI number, place and time of loss, and FIR number
  4. Upload identity documents such as Aadhar or others
  5. File a complaint at your nearest police station

Benefits of CEIR Portal

  • Blocks your phone’s IMEI so no one else can use it
  • Helps law enforcement track your phone if it connects to any mobile network
  • Makes recovery quicker and easier using surveillance and network alerts

Conclusion

This initiative by Noida Police shows how effective use of technology and fast action can help regain public trust. If your phone has been lost recently, don’t lose hope — with help from CEIR and your local police, there’s a good chance you’ll get it back.
