Oppo is all set to launch the K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro on July 21, with a standout feature that’s already making waves — a built-in active cooling fan with IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistance. And now, it seems that OnePlus doesn’t want to be left behind.
According to a fresh leak from China, OnePlus is closely monitoring the K13 Turbo series and may implement the same waterproof fan-cooled tech in its upcoming Ace 6 Ultra, possibly dubbed the Ace 6 Extreme Edition.
If true, the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra would be the brand’s first phone with a cooling fan and IP-rated water resistance — a rare combination. This isn’t just a gimmick — Oppo’s own design claims to improve cooling efficiency by 300%, reduce space usage by 70%, and boost power output by 120%.
This means more sustained high frame rates in demanding games like PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty, and Genshin Impact, with fewer overheating issues — something gamers have always wished for.
Oppo calls its fan system the “True Wind Tunnel”, designed to intake air and rapidly cool the internals. OnePlus is rumored to adopt a similar approach for the Ace 6 Ultra, which could make it one of the best-performing gaming smartphones on the market.
The fan will work even in wet conditions, thanks to a sealed internal architecture that keeps water out while letting airflow in — a true engineering feat.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra launched in May 2024, so it’s likely the Ace 6 Ultra will debut around April or May 2025. The device is expected to be limited to the Chinese market, though global fans are hoping for a wider release.
Reports suggest that several other smartphone makers in China are also testing internal cooling fans for future devices. If Oppo and OnePlus pull this off, we could soon see a new trend in fan-cooled, waterproof flagships.
If the leaks are accurate, the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra could be a breakthrough device for mobile gamers and power users alike — combining high-performance cooling with durability. Whether or not it reaches global markets, this could set a new benchmark for Android flagships in 2025.
