Redmi 15 5G
Redmi has officially launched the Redmi 15 5G in India as the successor to the Redmi 14 series. The brand is positioning this device to compete with smartphones from OPPO, Realme and Motorola in the mid-range market. The new phone comes with a premium design, Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0, a super smooth 144Hz display and a large 7000mAh battery.
The Redmi 15 5G features a 6.9-inch FHD+ display with 144Hz refresh rate and 288Hz touch sampling rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and responsive gaming controls. The device comes with IP64 certification for dust and splash resistance, and weighs 217 grams, making it reasonably slim for a large-battery phone.
For capturing pictures and videos, the phone offers a 50MP dual AI camera setup on the rear. Photography modes include portrait, night mode and panorama. On the front, it carries an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls.
At its core, the Redmi 15 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. This makes it quite capable for multitasking, gaming and heavy usage.
The biggest highlight is its 7000mAh jumbo battery, supported by 33W fast charging. Redmi claims that the phone can last for several days on a single charge. The device also comes with powerful speakers for an immersive sound experience.
In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports 5G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, dual SIM slots and a USB Type-C port. For security, it features both a fingerprint sensor and face unlock.
The Redmi 15 5G is available in three colour variants – Midnight Black, Frosted White and Sandy Purple.
The smartphone will go on sale in India from 28th August via Amazon India and official Xiaomi channels.
With a 7000mAh battery, Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, 50MP dual AI camera and 144Hz display, the Redmi 15 5G is a strong mid-range competitor in India. At under ₹17,000, it looks like a solid option for users who want long-lasting battery life along with smooth performance.
