Redmi 15A 5G
Redmi 15A has officially launched in India as an affordable 5G smartphone, expanding Xiaomi’s A-series lineup. The starting price of the device is Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM with 128GB storage model is priced at Rs. 14,499, while the top-end 6GB RAM variant is available for Rs. 16,499.
The smartphone comes in three colour options including Ace Black, Awesome Blue and Amaze Purple. It will go on sale from April 3 via Flipkart, Mi.com and authorised Xiaomi retail stores across the country.
Redmi 15A features a large 6.9-inch HD+ display that supports multiple refresh rates ranging from 60Hz to 120Hz. The screen also offers a 240Hz touch sampling rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and responsive touch performance. With a peak brightness of up to 800 nits, the display is designed for decent outdoor visibility.
The phone carries an IP52 rating, providing basic protection against dust and water splashes, making it suitable for everyday use.
The device is powered by an octa-core T8300 5G processor built on a 6nm architecture, paired with a Mali-G57 GPU. It offers up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM along with support for virtual RAM expansion. Storage goes up to 128GB UFS 2.2 and can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card.
On the software front, the Redmi 15A runs on Android 16 with HyperOS 3.0. Xiaomi is promising up to four years of Android updates and six years of security patches, which is a significant highlight in the budget segment.
For photography, the Redmi 15A comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup led by a 32-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. The camera is designed to deliver clear and detailed shots in various lighting conditions.
On the front, the smartphone houses an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls, catering to basic imaging needs.
One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi 15A is its massive 6,300mAh battery. The device supports 15W wired charging and also includes 7.5W reverse wired charging support.
The company claims the battery can last up to two days on a single charge, making it a strong contender for users looking for long battery life in the budget segment.
The Redmi 15A supports a wide range of connectivity options including 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS and Galileo. It also features a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack and FM radio support.
Additional features include stereo speakers, a fingerprint scanner, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and e-compass. The device also integrates AI-powered tools such as Google Gemini and Circle to Search for enhanced user experience.
Redmi 15A stands out in the budget category with its large display, long-lasting battery and future-ready 5G connectivity. Combined with extended software support and AI features, the device aims to deliver strong value for money in the entry-level smartphone market.
